Healing Teas

For any tea combination below, it would be ideal to use a tea pot that has a mesh infuser inside to put all the ingredients.  Then you add hot water and let it seep.  I like to cover it the pot with towel to keep it hot.  If your tea pot is small, you can refill it with hot water for a second batch.

Morning + All Day Hydrating Ginger Tea

  • 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger sliced
  • 3 – 4 slices of lemon or lime peel
  • 2 – 4 cardamom pods

Note, ginger has a nice effect on hydrating the gut and helping with digestion.  Citrus peels are high in vitamin C, which is a nice way to have an immune booster and collagen builder.  You can use orange or grapefruit peels (or any combination) if you prefer those flavors.  I like to make a fresh batch daily or every other day, and I just keep adding hot water all day long for super yummy hydration.

Evening Calming Tea

  • 6 – 10 small whole rose buds
  • 1 tbsp chamomile flowers (optional, but great for sleep)
  • 2 cardamom buds

Note, rose hips are a wonderful way to calm the nervous system, especially at the end of the evening, in preparation for a calm night’s rest.

Cold Remedy Tea

  • 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger sliced
  • 3 – 4 slices of lemon or lime peel

Note, after steeping this combination, add to a cup with 1 tbsp fire cider, squeeze of ½ lemon or lime, and 1 tbsp raw honey.
